Tony was the fire engineer for the AU$2.1 billion new Royal Adelaide Hospital. This project was a 170,000 m2 green-fields hospital, being delivered for SA Health as a public-private partnership. Commencing in 2011, the design stage was substantially completed in May 2014. Technical completion was achieved on 15 March 2017 with opening in June 2017.

Key fire engineering issues included performance solutions for the cladding system, extended exit travel distances, increased fire compartment sizes, rationalised fire resistance levels, and managing the competing demands of the fire and security strategies.
