Risk and the Regulator

Dr Enright authored a three-part series of research reports to improve risk-informed decision making in both present and future building regulation. The report stages were:

• Part 1 ‘An Introduction to Risk Principles’, issued on 17 July 2014

• Part 2 ‘Risk-informed Elements in the Existing Building Regulation’ issued on 24 September 2014, and

• Part 3 ‘The Next Generation Risk Framework for New Zealand’s Building Regulations’ issued on 20 April 2015.

A summary of the Part 3 report was presented at the Australian Building Codes Board ‘Building Australia’s Future’ conference on 15 September 2015.
